Using your garden for Jewish Traditions and Holidays
There are many items you can pull from your garden to prepare dishes to celebrate Jewish holidays, rituals and traditions. This workshop will demonstrate what to plant in your garden to use in your food preparation, whether you are preparing Shabbat dinner or a Passover Seder. You can grow wonderful vegetables and herbs to prepare many of your favorite holiday dishes. We will also cover what to do with all those extra vegetables: cheap & abundant cabbage become sauerkraut, copious cucumbers become pickles, cheap beets become borscht & kvass. This workshop includes a hands-on fermentation demonstration.
